Hello I’m Iain, the hands and brains behind every build…

Since 2017, I’ve been running a one-man operation, converting vans of all shapes and sizes. What started out as a hobby has grown into something much bigger. Over the years, more and more people have asked me to help build their dream camper, and it’s been amazing to see their dreams unfold.

In 2024, I decided to semi-retire from my full-time job so I could focus on building Strathearn Camper Co. These days, the majority of my time is spent helping others hit the road - building reliable, handcrafted vans that are made to be used, explored, and enjoyed. When I’m not in the workshop you’ll find me driving across Scotland in my campervan with my wife Christina and dog Poppy.

All of our vans are converted one at a time in my workshop here in Perthshire. Working this way means every van gets the care and attention it deserves from start to finish.

  • Costs vary depending on the level of work required. Thats why we ask that you complete an enquiry form with as much detail as possible to help us provide you with an accurate quote.

    From conversion support to partial builds to full bespoke conversions, every van is built different.

  • Timelines depend on the size and complexity of the project. A full conversion typically takes 6-8 weeks, while smaller jobs or conversion support work can be completed in a few days to a few weeks.

  • Yes - we can advise on the right base vehicle for your needs and budget, and help plan the layout before you buy or start building. This ensures your conversion is safe, practical, and tailored to how you’ll actually use your van.

  • All of our work is carried out to professional standards and gas/electrical safety regulations.

    We are the only certified Skyline Pop Top roof fitter in Scotland.

    We can also provide documentation for insurance and resale purposes with proof of professional conversion.
